Personality: Looking at Maegor, the initial impression is often the right one. Maegor is described as being bulky and sturdy, seemingly strong and rather humorless. He is a man of brute force and rage, which defined his legacy, earning him the moniker "The Cruel". Maegor is selfish and greedy. He marries multiple women in an attempt to sire an heir, believing it his right, even in defiance of the Church. He casts aside his first wife and ignores her for a number of years because he felt she failed him in giving him a son. Other women, he forced into marriage, using their children as hostages, many of these woman widows of men he killed. He does this without regard of their feelings or interest in what other people might say. He does what he feels he has to as king.

Despite this, Maegor has a modicum of respect for order. He was the second son of Aegon and supported his brother's rule, never really challenging him. Their only major conflict coming when Maegor married his second wife and cast aside his first. But rather than come to actual blows, Maegor opted for exile when presented with a choice. He acted as his brother's Hand for a time and served him loyally through peace and war. It was only when the realm was in turmoil after Aenys's death that Maegor challenged his nephew for the throne.

Maegor could be argued to enjoy violence. When fighting against religious insurgents, he opted for the more brutal Battle of the Seven, a religious practice where seven chosen from either side battle against each other until one is left standing. Maegor fought long and hard, earning a concussion from the event and slipping into a minor coma. Where his father and brother tended for mercy and compromise, Maegor is brutal and unforgiving. Those who rose up against him in rebellion were crushed and then executed, rather than allowed to simply bend the knee. He even opted for the more cruel execution of hanging, rather than beheading, which was viewed as demeaning to nobles. In his eyes, they were no different than rebellious small folk and would be treated as such. When one of his wives was accused of adultery, he had her entire family executed and saved the worst punishment for his wife. She was tortured for over a fortnight before being cut into seven pieces and mounted on spikes. When the same wife had earlier miscarried, he executed every midwife and maester involved with the birth. Maegor is unforgiving and vengeful.

He's open minded to magic, turning to a woman from Pentos for healing and care, rather than trusting the Maesters. Tyanna acts as his Master of Whispers as well, despite the rumors that she is a sorceress. Maegor doesn't seem to care and puts a bit of stock in magic. He dismisses superstitions about religion, never really caring much about being condemned or damned by the High Septon. He even goes so far as to burn the Starry Sept in retaliation for the High Septon condemning polygamy. He accepts the title of "Kinslayer" without much fear or guilt, killing his nephew during a dragon duel.

He's confident to the point of cockiness, refusing to concede in the face of a losing battle against Jaehaerys and the united force of several Great Houses. He kills anyone who urges him to surrender, refusing to back down. It's only when he dies on the Iron Throne that his tyranny comes to an end, but even still, no one can really say how Maegor died. If he did it himself or someone killed him. It would take a lot to kill a man like Maegor the Cruel and apparently, no one can really say how it is done.
Abilities/Powers/Strengths: Maegor is an expert swordsman and extremely athletic. He's noted to be skilled in tourneys and melees, he's also participated in a number of battles, his own and others. He's familiar with magic, but never practiced it himself. While he can strategize, he tends to just be a "smash everything" type of soldier.
Inventory Upon Arrival: His father's crown, his armor and a regular steel sword.
